The Great Rupert. Also known as 'A Christmas Wish'. A rather quirky Christmas movie starring Jimmy Durante, Terry Moore, Tom Drake, Frank Orth, Sarah Haden and Queenie Smith. And of course the star of the show; Rupert, the Squirrel. This film had our writers in fits of laughter. Not in the least due to the fantastically entertaining puppetry of a dancing squirrel. At the start of the film, a man teaches Rupert to dance, so that he can pitch him to entertainers and go on the road with the plucky squirrel. When the talent agents don't bite, Rupert's trainer is forced to give up his home and set Rupert free. The Great Rupert goes on to save the poor and struggling Amendola family with some good old 'Robin Hood style' thievery. As the tagline suggests; "He's not just squirrelin' around!" This is the original Black and white edition, remastered into 1080 high definition video. The film has been remastered beautifully, with sound so clear it's like the day the film was made, and the credits are crisp and clear. We are giving this film a 9 star rating.
